Bailey-Johnson School
Description
The Alpharetta Colored School served the African American population and students of north Fulton County from the early 1950s to 1967. In 1952, it was renamed Bailey-Johnson School. It was closed due to pressure from the federal government to desegregate the public school systems. The black students who attended it were then placed in the nearby majority white schools of Milton and Alpharetta.
